You should not put your CV titles as CV or Curriculum Vitae.The recruiter knows what type of document it is, Rather you should write your Name at the top of the document.
No matter how funny your e-mail address seem to you, it is inappropriate to use it on your job application. The proper e-mail address should contain your name as it appears on your CV.
Never write anything regarding the salary, whether your salary expectations or the salary you received in the past. Salary issues should be discussed in the interview session.
An optimized CV/Resume should not contain the word I, Me, He, She or They.Use action words to describe yourself or your skills.
A CV/Resume should always represent what you are capable of doing regardless of what you are not capable of doing. Avoid all kinds of negative words to represent the best version of you.
Passive form : The revenue increased by 20%.
Active form: Increased the revenue by 20%.
The active sentences show more clear actions than the first. It is straightforward and simple.
You should not write up references unless it is specifically requested. Moreover you also should not mention “references available upon requests “. It undermines the quality of your CV/resume.
As we already know that most of the recruiters spend 6/7 seconds on your CV, So it is really important that your CV catches the attention within that time span.

One more important thing to remember, When we apply to a job that we found on a job group, more often, our resumes pass through an ATS. If you’re not familiar, an ATS (Applicant Tracking System) is a software system that organizes the hiring process, but it can categorize candidates based on requirements set up by the job recruiter. So, to actually get a response back about a position we applied for, we need to create a resume that will make it past the system’s screening process and reach to the hands of an actual human being.

And studies have shown that 75% of resumes never make it to an actual human. Moreover, this is the first step to actually getting your resume to a recruiter. Applicant tracking systems (ATS) use an algorithm to catch specific words and phrases that the recruiter seems necessary. If it’s a marketing job, job recruiter could want to see that you’re a candidate of M.B.A. Please look at the job description and find out the words and phrases that are repeated for a clue into what the company may be using as keywords. Try to put them on your resume where appropriate. This is also why it’s important to update your resume for each job you apply to.
2️⃣ Never Use Complex Resume Templates
Hard structured resume templates with graphics may look great, but many are not ATS friendly. Different types of charts, images, and unpopular fonts will not be processed and results in excess white space and jumbled up information when read by the ATS. Instead you should stick to simple designs for ATS readability.
3️⃣ Save Your Resume in Different Formats
You need to always double sure to save your resume in Word as well as PDF. Mostly PDFs are preferred when sending to recruiters directly since they cannot be modified, some ATS cannot convert formats such as PDF or HTML. You need to make sure what format works best for the ATS before attaching your resume.
4️⃣ Test Your Resume Before Sending
The best tip I can give you if your resume is ATS friendly is by testing it yourself. Always save your resume in plain text and check to see if it matches the original. If you are missing information or there is excess blank space or special characters added in, that means it isn’t readable by the ATS.

Headings are really important in the ATS screening process. As it works on machine language, it prioritizes basic simple resume headings instead of creative headings.
